Psychiatric Evaluation & Treatment
OUR APPROACH
Psychiatric care grounded in expertise and trust.
Our psychiatrists take pride in comprehensive evaluations that begin even before the first visit — with careful attention to your biographical, psychiatric, and medical history before any recommendations are made.
Treatment recommendations are made thoughtfully and collaboratively. We take time to ensure you understand what we are recommending, why, and what to expect — because our goal is for you to be the expert on your own health.
Our psychiatrists aim to work in close contact with any clinicians and specialists involved in your care. For patients receiving both psychiatric and psychotherapy services within BAM Psych, that coordination happens naturally within the practice.
WHO WE SEE
Care for where you are in life.
Adolescents and Adults
Adults and older adolescents navigating mood symptoms, depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma-related concerns, or questions about diagnosis and medication — including those with prior treatment history or complex presentations. Age ranges vary by clinician and service.
Medically Complex Patients
Some patients arrive with a health history that requires more careful attention — medications that interact, conditions that affect mood and cognition, or prior care that didn't account for the full picture. This is exactly the kind of complexity we are trained and equipped to navigate.
Professionals & Healthcare Workers
Professionals in healthcare, technology, law, finance, academia, and other high-responsibility fields. We understand the particular pressures of working and living in the Bay Area — and the value of care from a psychiatrist focused on helping you feel sharp, steady, and fully present in your work and life.
Older Adults & Medicare-Eligible Patients
Older adults and Medicare-eligible patients navigating depression, anxiety, sleep disruption, cognitive changes, or psychiatric symptoms that arise alongside medical conditions and medications common in later life. This is a stage that requires particular care and expertise — older adults are welcome here, with care that reflects the depth and attention this stage of life deserves.
AREAS OF FOCUS
Conditions and concerns we commonly treat.
Our psychiatrists bring experience from leading academic and specialty clinical settings and work across a wide range of presentations, including those that are medically complex or longstanding.
WHAT TO EXPECT
From your first inquiry to ongoing care.
Inquiry and Fit
After you reach out, you'll be invited to complete a brief questionnaire to help us understand what you're looking for and direct you to the most appropriate clinician or service. Our team will follow up by phone or email to discuss next steps.
Psychiatric Evaluation
Your psychiatrist conducts a comprehensive evaluation structured across two closely spaced visits — the first focused on a thorough assessment of your biographical, psychiatric, and medical history, and the second on treatment planning in depth, with a strong emphasis on making sure you leave with a clear understanding of all that contributes to your reason for seeking treatment, and the options available to you.
Ongoing Treatment
Treatment recommendations are made thoughtfully and collaboratively. Your psychiatrist remains attentive to how you are responding over time, adjusting care in close collaboration with you. Follow-up frequency is determined by your needs and goals, in keeping with best practices for safe and effective care.
Ready when you are.
